If you’re looking for a great cooler, there are many brands available. Yeti, Coleman, Pelican, RTIC, and OtterBox are just a few of the major brands. In this article we’ll review options from Pelican Cooler vs OtterBox Cooler, specifically focusing on the 65 -70 quarter cooler options from these great brands.

Pelican Elite 70 Quart Cooler

Pelican is known for their rugged gear, temperature controlled packaging, lighting systems, and coolers for professionals and outdoor lovers.

The Pelican Elite cooler line is the perfect line for any outdoor enthusiast who needs to keep things super cold. Their coolers come in hard and soft varieties. There are many that have wheels making transport extremely convenient.

The Pelican Elite 70 quart cooler is 36 inches long and 21 inches high. It doesn’t have wheels, but it does have extremely strong handles.

We love the molded-in latch clasp which means it’s part of the cooler, not attached. This is a big deal because the clasps won’t break off.

There’s a built in bottle opener and four cup holders. As a result this is a great tailgating cooler. But it also holds 70 quarts and therefore makes it versatile for hauling food or your most recent catch when fishing. And you can use the fish ruler on the top to measure your fish.

OtterBox Venture 65 Quart Cooler

OtterBox is known for their rugged protective cases. You may have an OtterBox on your cell phone right now. But many don’t know that OtterBox also makes temperature controlled coolers and tumblers.

Their Venture line of coolers offer some great options for those who love the outdoors. This line comes in three sizes – 25, 45, and 65 quarts. We will be reviewing the 65 quart option.

The cooler is true to size so you’ll be able to fit a full 65 quarts of whatever you want in this cooler. It is longer than the Pelican Elite cooler coming in at 41 inches long. But it is just under 19 inches high.

These coolers are built with accessories in mind. There are many options that you can purchase separately that can be added and hooked onto this cooler.

We’re not huge fans of the clasps as they aren’t molded-in like the Pelican option. On the other hand, the handles are integrated so you don’t have to worry about those breaking.
