If you’re toting around a SUP or two, you’ll want a reliable carrier for your car. Here’s our Thule SUP Taxi review, a great choice for those with one or two SUPs to transport.

The Thule SUP Taxi is designed to work with Thule’s roof racks as well as other factory and aftermarket roof racks. It has room for two boards with widths up to 34 inches. The SUP taxi can expand and contract using a lever in the carrier to fix your needs, however 34 inches is the maximum.

The boards are held in place with a padded strap. Due to the padded strap and the padding on the rack, the boards will be protected as well as secure. The strap connects from one side over to the other side and is a cam behind a door. The spring action cam inside hold the strap in place behind the small door. Additional security is build into the carrier. There is a lock which will ensure the door remains closed and therefore the strap won’t come loose.

This carrier is easy to install to your roof rack using Thule’s Speedlink system. In addition to the lock on the cam door, there is a lock underneath the the carrier which will keep the steel coated strap in place.

  • Compatible with many different rack types
  • Security built in with locks on the straps and on the connection to the rack

  • Some have had issues with the spring in the cam which requires adjustment or replacement with another spring.
